Noyel? Xmas? Hoho

A lot of people are sending me emails to ask if there will be some fun stuff for Xmas this year on the Non dairy Diary and the answer is...mmmh ...Maybe! Working on it!

And a calendar, too.But since it's  a free calendar, I won't publish it until end of december, to avoid problems with people who think they can sell it because it's free .

On m'écrit pour me demander si il y aura des petites maisons cette année, et j'y travaille, soyez patient, on verra en decembre :)

On me reclame aussi le calendrier, et cette année comme l'année dernière, vous le trouverez sur le blog à la toute fin de decembre, pour éviter les problemes avec les gens qui pensent qu'ils peuvent le revendre parceque c'est gratuit (ce genre de logique m'echappe encore).

D'ici la, voyons, heu, quelques lapins peut-etre?

Et un tres joyeux anniversaire à mon grand-frere Chalai sans qui le blog serait nettement moins rigolo!

Little Bunnies- Les Petits Lapins

Once I was a mom of a very active little 3 months old boy-and couldn't find anything I would like to read him that we both liked. I wanted pretty illustrations in his favorite colors and my favorite patterns, and a text that would help us talk about our lives...So I sat at my table and just made it. When I was finished I asked my friendTami to help me translate it in English...And then I bought my first iPad! And I contacted Olivier, because I could see how much fun it would be to make an app out of it! I created animations out of my best illos, and Ol worked on making 3 versions for 3 ages in the same app, and Sylvain created a very sweet music, Vero looked and gave ideas, Tami came back to edit and gave her voice to the app..And suddenly we were a team, and lucky me, a very good one!

We worked very hard and had all our little friends under 3 testing it and made some change for additional fun and better ergonomic. And here we are, a great app to share with babies and toddlers! It was a big adventure , it took us 6 months or so, I'm so proud we managed to do it! The app exists now in English and French, and you can download 

the Little Bunnies'app (English version) on iTunes now! 

The app is for iPad only for the moment, we are working on putting it on iPhone too.

It's only the beginning, I'll tell you more about it pretty soon!

J'y crois pas les gars, on y est arrivé, on l'a fait, ça y est, j'ai produit ma première app! Cela fait maintenant trois ans que je travaille sur un livre pour mon fils. Au départ je cherchais de quoi intéresser un enfant de trois mois très actif, et puis au fur et a mesure j'ai rajoute des trucs qu'on ne trouve pas dans les livres un peu neu-neu pour les bébés mais que les bébés aiment...Donc ça parle de câlins, de promenades, et puis heu un tout petit peu de  prout quand même. Toute la journee d'un bebe pour de vrai, racontee et animee par des lapins mignons.  Quand mon livre a été fini, on l'a lu et relu, et puis je l'ai posé, un peu, parceque j'avais plein d'autres projets en cours...Et puis on a travaillé avec mon amie Tami a le traduire en Anglais pour le faire publier ici. Et juste quand ça a été fini j'ai acheté un iPad, et ho lala j'ai vu ce que je pouvais en faire, et comme ce serait plus rigolo en livre animé pour l'iPad! Donc j'ai contacté Olivier, et il a accepté de faire la meilleure programmation du monde pour une app jamais vue ( c'est mon point de vue) et Vero a donné un coup de main aussi, et puis Sylvain a crée une musique toute douce, j'ai tout repris pour faire des animations et ça y est, en six mois de travail ardu c'était fait, la jolie app!

But really ?Owls!

Someone found quite fun to download my owls, print them, and made photos. Which is quite OK (I mean, the print part). Then she posted them (not OK), they were noticed, and I finally found them on one of my favorite blogs with no mention of my name more than " some owls I found on the internet". And this is not OK at all. 

A link to my blog was added afterwards thanks to the lovely people at Ohdeedoh (not their fault, and how lovely they were in following up, thank you so much guys!), but I never really allowed the use of my work in the original post, and I would have loved to be asked for. And then I got the usual "I couldn't find your name or website or whatever I didn't know", fake apology, since  my name was watermarked on the picture the blogger used.

I had a bit of re-appropration to do, to have my owls back. I made myself some more owls, and made cute ornaments out of the illos, to enjoy them a bit before I find them again on someone else website. Which is not OK, by the way, unless you ASK FIRST.

And since I was at it , I thought that I could share my owls with you ! Print them, make ornaments, mobiles, put them on a string or print them on fabric, but please please please if you plan to show them on your website, name me as the author, add a link to my website, and be kind enough to tell me so I can gush and be happy you did.

Pour vous raconter rapidement une longue histoire, ça y est, on me pompe ici aussi...Une bloggueuse a utilisé mes images, les a posté en deco sur des gateaux ( mes préférés en plus si c'est pas vache ça!) , elle a trouve ça chouette (haha) et a donc contacté un blog de design (un de mes préférés aussi, non, faut faire dans les grandes largeurs quand on y va)...Ou je les ai trouvés grace à une lectrice. Mon nom n'était pas cité, les filles du blog de design ont rectifié, elles sont adorables...Par contre la bloggueuse m'a sorti qu'elle n'avait pas trouvé mon nom...Celui qui était en signature sur l'image? Ha oui. Pfff. Du coup ca m'a énervée ( un peu) et au lieu de mettre des watermarks gros comme ma tete sur mes images, je vous ai pondu (haha) quelques hiboux de plus, histoire que vous en profitiez plus que les indélicats qui me pompent...Voila, à vos ciseaux, et gros bisous à tous mes gentils lecteurs, qui me préviennent quand ils voient mes images ailleurs, grace à vous je peux continuer :)

The longest post of the year

In the honor of Rachel, who likes cute piggies, I decided in August to draw 40 piggies. I sounded fairly simple at that time , but since I work a lot these days and a piggy takes from ten to 20 minutes to draw, I was finished yesterday only. This is, any way, the silliest belated birthday card, and the proof that when ones work, ones improves dramatically (#1 is crap, #37 is my favorite), so I'm quite content.

Voici donc la carte d'anniversaire en retard la plus longue du siècle, ce qui vous fait une belle manche, surtout si vous preniez le temps de l'imprimer sur tissu. Pour ma part je suis ravie, parceque dans une époque ou tout doit étre instantané, c'est la preuve déroulante et enthousiaste que quand on pratique on s'améliore. Le cochon nº38 est quand meme vachement mieux que le chonchon nº1 (non, il n'a pas l'air bovin, suivez voyons). 

Je devais avoir fini fin aout, mais vu que j'ai trois boulots et pas de vacances, c'est sur que ce n'est pas allé aussi vite que je voudrais, et je fais mes plus plates excuses à la récipiendaire.

Bon anniversaire  Rachel, et longue vie aux cochons!

collage iPad

a collage Made on my iPad with brushes and Finger design. Nothing too fancy, but I love exploring new design possibilities from my bed.

l'application iPad de mon blog ne me permet pas de poster de plus grande image, mais j'adore l'idee de pouvoir poster un collage qui ressemble à ma couette depuis sous ma couette...après une longue journée à dessiner et à peindre pour les autres, c'est bon de trouver du temps pour soi là où on peut. Aller hop, extinction des feux!

Gio's gentle Giant

I had a really good day yesterday. I dropped by Gio's workshop. Gio is a sculptor, and a magnificent one. Monsters are his forte, and I think its favorite. I love to watch and wonder, especially since my own imagination doesn't go much to the darker side. He was working on something very special and he let me have fun a bit and add some birds to a giant sculpture he was making. It's a magical piece, with a real feel, and I'm already totally in love with it! I can't wait to see more Gio!

Hier je me suis bien amusée! Je suis passée voir Gio à son atelier, histoire de discuter d'art , un peu ( ça fait du bien) et puis d'admirer sa dernière pièce ...Gio est spécialisé dans les monstres, un truc de ouf, et son atelier ressemble un peu à un atelier Parisien du 19eme siècle, mais qui serait passe du coté noir de la force. C'est d'autant plus amusant de regarder ces terres un peu effrayantes que Gio est une bonne pâte.  Donc après cinq minutes de contorsions à la recherche d'une position confortable pour un personnage, je me suis retrouvée avec un minuscule morceau de terre en main, à sculpter des ptis zozios en discutant...Voila un bon souvenir que je garderais longtemps. J'ai hâte de voir la pièce terminée!
