♥ Marinette

I just got Marinette on the mail! I love it so much I put it on the wall until I find five minutes to relax and sew. The colors are totally accurate ( it doesn't show on my Hipstamatic) , I'm really impressed. She is much bigger than I thought and  I love it!

Marinette est arrivée ! Je l'ai mise au mur en attendant de trouver cinq minutes pour coudre...Je suis super contente les couleurs sont exactes ou presque, j'avait un peu peur en fait non. Super!

Je n'en reviens pas d'avoir réussi a créer une poupée avec une amie. Top chouette!

Summer houses

When I was a little girl, my Maman used to make us cut out and paste the cutest little house. All you had to do was fold fold fold cut and voilà, a bit of glue and you had a tiny house to decorate. It's so simple , it's almost magic. I think she used to make them with her own mom. I made some with my son today, and thought we should celebrate the fourth generation of cutting and pasting tiny houses with a special printable for you to enjoy:

Nous passions souvent nos vacances à la campagne, et en fin de mois d'aout , beau temps ou pas, il nous arrivait souvent d'avoir de grosses crise de "Je m'ennuie!". Ma petite maman se rappelait alors de ses activités de petite fille et nous faisait plier et couper de petites maison très simples.  Si simples que nous pouvions en faire à la chaine, et passer des heures à les décorer. En essayant de retrouver le modèle pour mon fils j'ai eu l'idée d'en faire à ma sauce, il n'y a plus qu'à plier et coller. A vous de jouer, un enfant de 4 ans peut le faire!

I saw a women here in Santa Monica, carrying a garden in a teapot. I love the idea, I think I will try it myself.

Une page

One page out of my sketch book. With wee bits of this and that.

I noticed in Paris that working girls had often two bags. I guess one is a purse and the other for work, often just big enough for a laptop, but not a laptop bag for fear of being stolen. At lunch time, most girls had only one bag. I found the idea clever. I copied it immediately.

Une page de mon carnet...J'ai note a Paris que les filles n'ont pas de sac d'ordinateur comme ici, mais un sac très joli en plus du sac a main. Je trouve ça très chou, et j'ai copié l'idée tout de suite.

Coucou! J'ai ajouté deux modes au pdf des tasses, de quoi faire de jolis mobiles si vous suivez mon tutorial ici...Vous trouverez le mien là. 

J'ai eu la grande idée de le mettre devant l'aération de la clim...Le thermostat est assez haut, donc je ne me suis rendue compte de rien jusqu'à cette après midi ou la température a dépassé les 30º... Ca vole bien.   

Marinette, the little softie fox.

Ho, we had so much fun! My very good friend, Natacha, a true kindred spirit, is a fantastic stylist. I find myself often at awe looking at the quality of her creations. It's been a while we wanted to work together on a fun project, and this week Spoonflower contest  was just the thing. She created the cutest little softie design ever. It's a little fox, and we called her Marinette. Then she sent me the white pattern, and I did my best to create the best colors and outfit patterns. Isn't she pretty?

I can't wait to try my hand at sewing this cute plushie. Quick, Mr Postman!

I hope Marinette will be a success, for we plan to make more fun stuff to sew and craft the  Lazy Giraffe and I (the Bunny in the Moon).

Marinette the little Fox

Le lapin et la Girafe! Un jour au boulot une amie m'a dit qu'elle connaissait quelqu'un un peu dans mon genre...The Lazy Giraffe. C'est sur, entre la Giraffe et le Lapin dans la Lune, ça a tout de suite cliqué! Natacha est mille fois plus douée que moi en design de patron et couture, et bon on a des idées qui marchent bien ensemble. Ca faisait longtemps que nous parlions de faire un projet à quatre mains, et le nouveau concours de Spoonflower était juste l'occasion pour nous. On s'est bien amusées ( l'occasion fait le luron) , je pense que ça se voit, elle est bien mignonne notre petite renarde. Nat a crée le patron et un modèle blanc, et j'ai crée le design des couleurs et des vêtements. Nous attendons le modèle pour le coudre, vite Mme la Poste!

En attendant, on s'est bien amusée, pourtant c'était un sacré boulot. J'espere qu'on remettra ça vite!
