Eyecandy : iPad background

I am a geek but I like it pretty and vintage. It should make me miserable, but I'm ok. It takes a lot of time but I always end up finding something to embellish my tech life in colorful ways. Well, most of the time. I am still looking for reasonably good, pretty speakers for my desk computer. Looks like people who make good speakers never realized that women have ears, too.
I wonder why anything tech-y a bit expensive-ey always end up being produced in the ugly-male-ish combo of black and silver? Are all the tech designer/marketers goths ? Or with ego problems? I find that really depressing.
Anyway. For my white iPad with a pretty blue jelly cover and a sweet Danica studio sleeve, I needed a pretty background , so here we are : download it and enjoy!
If you don't have an ipad, you can still enjoy the picture as a computer background here: july calendar
Virtual vacation

A Parisian calendar for July! Very Rive Gauche, where I come from.
Un calendrier de Juillet très Rive Gauche pour des vacances virtuelles, tout droit sorti de mon carnet de croquis...Voici la version de mon carnet. C'est fou comme trois couleurs et deux patterns ça change tout, non?
Vintage stickers , Yonagadou , classic washi paper . Drawings and yellow pattern by me, Delphine.
A busman's holiday

We went on a hunt this morning. A bunny hunt. I noticed that there is a LOT of bunnies in the house. I wonder why, really, but it was a good opportunity for a fun inside activity.
So I grabbed the iPhone and this fun app, Disposable , which is a bit like Hipstamatic, but take smaller pictures and works with only one button. It makes it, at last the free version, a perfect tool for my five years old. He just has to be a bit patient for the cameras to focus, and then shoot. Easy as pie.
We went excitedly all over the house to find bunnies and picture them, what fun!
We missed some I am sure, and I had to promise to do it again.
So grab your camera and go! Is there is some fun animals in your house?
Summer sketchbook (2)

Second page of the summer sketchbook. Eno greeting notebook page, mt tape, decoupages and sketches by me, Delphine.
The text is about my son contradicting me : you can't have 3 orange cats in an airplane. I disagree. Don't you?
Summer sketchbook

I began to draw patterns and pictures because I was aware of copyrights problems. Every details and patterns you see in my illos is mine.
I would never, ever use someone's else work in my illustrations. But I still gather bits and stuff in my creative path, and I am quite fond of washi paper. It was really frustrating not to use those bits and piece, and they do are part of my inspiration. So I decided that this summer I will have a special sketchbook where I will glue and have fun with every bit of paper I like (it's called decoupage and it's legal). I think it's OK to show you, as long as I don't make money out of it. And if I ever use these professionally I will change the glued pieces for pieces of my own.
I found the washi tape here : Hiromi Paper but they don't sell it online , I saw some at Uguisu, it's from Mihoko Seki. The golden cat was on the pack! Other washi tape from mt of course, stamps and tags from Japanese dollar stores, unfortunately I don't have references. Decoupages and drawings by me, Delphine.
The french stuff in the page is basically rambling about the day and the fact that people are not so fond of cats in westside LA. I am!
